About: Kirschbits
I was born in Venezuela and since 2 years I live in North Germany, where I got married with a Photographer and Journalist. I have a 15 years old son who came with me from Venezuela. I feel very lucky as both my son and now my husband have the artistic side I have as well. My husband is nature photographer, and my son draws japanese manga comics very well, and wants to become Graphic Designer as I am.
I studied Graphic Design in Venezuela and worked in the field for about 15 years. Being the latest on the web design area. But I’ve been always tied to create with my own hands. I’ve been always doing smaller decorative things, or even sewing a bit when I had the chance. Now that I am here in Germany, all my life changed and though I’m not focused in Graphic Design anymore, I placed all my effort on the handmade world. I started to experiment with different media, from wood and paper, polymer clay, watercolor and crayons, photographing as well, jewelry, knitting and crocheting, and last but not least, sewing. I found one day a nice cheap but good machine, bought it and soon after I found beautiful fabrics and the lightbulb turned on: “this would make a great handbag!” And so it started. I made the firsts ones, basically for me. And people around me said that I should sell them. Kirschbits, handmade handbags, started!
