About: Oya
Oya - New Magazine For Cultural Creatives
Oya, a German-language magazine start-up, provides a forum for people, projects and companies that are developing and putting to the test life-sustaining and forward-looking ways of living and working. True to its motto "thinking differently, living differently", Oya aims at a readership looking to make a difference by adopting truely sustainable lifestyles rather than resorting to green consumerism.
Issue 6 (January/February) is all about DIY: from handicraft to handiwork to becoming self-sufficient by farming in the country or in urban community gardens to producing things using high-tech fabricators. Numerous articles, essays, interviews and on-site reports show the bliss and the potential of DIY: Doing things ourselves will put our feet firmly on the ground, make us more resilient and give our life a deep sense of meaning. What´s more: nothing is as ecological as things that have been produced locally from local materials.
Oya is published and supported by a cooperative consisting of readers, authors and editorial staff. The bi-monthly magazine comprises about 100 pages can be found at railway newsagents across Germany and subscribed to on:
